I've been reading a list of effects of GMO on humans and in mice. It's very bad.
In doing so I learned that German courts banned GMO's and that their GMO company came here.

This Monsanto freak seed is causing disturbances around the globe. At least in Eurpie it must be labeled.

In Washington state this Thursday and Friday theory will be voting on a bill to have GMO in foods labeled. So far as I know this is correct. They're looking for help in Olympia to do this.

Also I heard as rumor that whole Foods has been bought out by Monsanto?
If so I'd stop using them entirely. Several years ago when they decided to allow frank enfolds I sold my stock in Whole Foods. Believe it or not we aren't powerless!
But we must act together.

In Germany it was ruled that the ONUS was NOT on them to prove it unsafe, but On Monsanto to prove otherwise!

I met Judy at the stage, (see video below), at Austin airport.
She was visiting her daughter here and lived here until moving recently.
But she's from Texas.
Flying in after thanksgiving as I was enroute from Visiting my daughter.

Very friendly person, as Texans are known to be. She's Capricorn and I'm barely across that threshold into Aquarious by 4 hours.
I generally attract those two signs pretty consistently.
Anyway we had a nice beach walk and here's the gold!

We stop here all the time when backpacking over on the Peninsula, we run into eat a Crescent Burger, etc, enjoy the lake, activities, kayaking, woods, clouds.

Some new hydrangeas I got this year.

The little Japanese maple. I've pruned it so much, but not this year.

It has created a very sort of lumpy look that widens out, and I like it a lot.

It's the largest in the neighborhood, very full of character..

And it has grown so much due to being pruned underneath.

It really has a very alive appearance!

Lake Crescent Lodge

Around 1930 members of Congress proposed the establishment of a large national park encompassing the central, mountainous region of the Olympic Peninsula, and, as a result, the Lodge received its most notable guest. To assess the sylvan beauty firsthand, President Franklin D. Roosevelt journeyed to the Peninsula in the fall of 1937. The Lodge welcomed him, his guards, and other political leaders the evening of September 30th. It is speculated, though not officially documented, that he spent the night there as well. As a result of his journey around the Peninsula, the President emphatically signed Olympic National Park into existence in 1938. Cottages built in the following decade were consequently named the Roosevelt Cabins.

The ducks quacking out the window early this morning made me think my daughter was calling. Her names Daphne. The kids teased her with Daffy duck, of course! So I made that her ringer on my phone.
The room looks warm compared to the lake and fog outside creating a feeling that's just warm n cozy.

and the second oldest town in Washington.

Taken perched on a log jam.

Located in the southeast corner of the park, Ohanapecosh, named for a Taidnapam (Upper Cowlitz) Indian habitation site along the river, is thought to mean “standing at the edge.” Situated among Douglas firs, western red cedars, and western hemlocks, visitors to Ohanapecosh can experience the beauty and complexity of an old-growth forest. The east side of the park is also somewhat drier and sunnier than the west side, making it a good destination when Paradise and Longmire are wet and foggy. Ohanapecosh is not accessible in winter.

I could sit and watch these currents for hours....

it was great fun climbing around on the log jam, and also seeing a family doing likewise. Obviously not used to balancing on logs, but the cool thing was, they were trying..

Mike and I spent a lot of time at Mt Rainier this summer, here are some pics of trails we hiked.

Frozen Lake Loop Trail (3 mi/4.8 km)
Follow the Sunrise Nature Trail to the ridgetop, then head west on the Sourdough Ridge Trail. Return to Sunrise via the Wonderland Trail and Old Campground Trail.

I wasn't able to get all the trail, my phone battery died. It was a nice hike.

Mount Fremont Lookout Trail (5.6 mi/9.0 km)
Follow Sourdough Ridge Trail to the Mount Fremont Trail. This trail leads to a historic fire lookout with excellent views of Mount Rainier and its glaciers along the way.

At an elevation of 6,400 feet, Sunrise is the highest point that can be reached by vehicle at Mount Rainier National Park. In summer, mountain meadows abound with wildflowers. On clear days, Sunrise provides breathtaking views of Mount Rainier, Emmons glacier, and many other volcanoes in the Cascade Range. These views and an excellent trail system make Sunrise the second most visited location in the park.

Sunrise is located 60 miles northeast of the Nisqually Entrance and 14 miles northwest of the Sunrise/White River turnoff on Highway 410.

The Sunrise Road usually opens in late June or early July and closes in late September to early October. Check the before setting out.

followed us munching on flowers, then went down the mountain.

We came upon him again down at some meadows still chomping his way down.

Michael with sculptures in background. I call it a peace garden. Some kids started it and now daily everyone adds some. This is on The White River at Mt Rainier National Park. Mike and I have been hiking Rainier the past three years now quite a bit. We usually haunt the Olympic Peninsula quite a bit, winters we like Winthrop for snowshoeing. We met in 1994 to hike Mt Baker, and have been together ever since that day.
